The 2010 class at North Shore-LIJ Franklin Hospital’s Pre-Med Internship Summer Scientific Program is celebrating it’s 45th anniversary this year.

Franklin’s medical director, Dr. Jack Rubenstein, coordinated the program in order to offer a first-hand opportunity for college students to decide whether or not a career as a physician is right for them. The four-week program gives participants an opportunity to observe and learn more about the medical field, and teaches about various specialties, including the operating room, the laboratory and the emergency and radiology departments.

Students from Franklin Session “A” 2010 class included, front row seated from left, Lauren Klein, Alexandria Albertsen, Brooke Rothstein, Danielle Skinder, Daniel Jun, Stephanie Lai and Zanab Mian. In the back row from left, are 2010 Program Coordinator Daniel Giangrasso, students Kimberly Dorso, Robert Chojnowski, Sanjay Mohan, Jaclyn Murphy, Jamie Sklar, Daniel Kim, Alex Coltoff, Michelle Calderon and Lauren McDonough, and Program Director Jack Rubenstein.
