'A Taste of Lynbrook' was a savory treat

Chamber hosts popular annual event at Knights of Columbus

    Food, drink, desserts, good company — who could ask for anything more? It was wall-to-wall wonderful at the St. Mary-Maris Stella Knights of Columbus on Hempstead Avenue on Monday night as the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce hosted its 3rd annual A Taste of Lynbrook.

Part of the proceeds will benefit the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund and the Lynbrook VFW.

"We are happy to be able to organize events that will help our businesses and bring our community together," said Astoria Federal Branch Manager Denise Rogers, one of the event's organizers. "Now that everyone has had a taste, I hope people will patronize those restaurants. They worked hard and all provided delicious items ... I look forward to next year!

 Local merchants, restraunteurs and organizations offered up succulent morsels, delcious desserts and decadent drinks. Attendees cast ballots for their favorites, and some of the winners were:

1st Place for Best Appetizer Atria Tanglewood

2nd Place for Best Appetizer was McQuades

1st place for best Entrée was Swingbelly's
2nd place for best Entrée was Mary MacNamaras

1st place for best Dessert was Sweet Peace
2nd place for best Dessert was Atria Lynbrook

Best Table Display went to Sweet Peace

Best Plate Presentation went to Mary MacNamaras
