A timeless holiday display in Bellmore

Posted

For the last 45 years, Nicholas "Nick" Casesi, of Bellmore, has decorated his home on Beford Court ever since his father, Nicholas Casesi Sr. — a Vietnam veteran — died of cancer at age 40.

As per tradition, Casesi adorns his home with decorations his father once used, creating a vintage and timeless display.

As the years have passed, Casesi has added to his seasonal display, keeping the holiday spirit and his father's memory alive. His mother, Catherine "Kay" Casesi, 79, still lives there, and continued to care for her three children — Marion, Nick and Cathryn — after her husband died.

Every year, the Casesi home lights the streets of Bellmore with its unique decorations and spirit of the season. The Casesi family wishes a Merry Christmas to all veterans.

Kay's father and uncle, George and Robert Crawford, were World War II veterans, and her great uncle, Sylvester Tracy, served in World War I.
