Absentee ballots for use in the school and library trustee and budget vote on May 15, are available through the District Clerk’s office at 128 Shepherd Street, Rockville Centre, NY, 11570.
Persons are eligible to use an absentee ballot if they are unable to appear due to illness or disability; outside the county due to ordinary duties, occupation, or business; outside the county due to special circumstances not usual to duties, occupation, business, or studies; vacation; spouse, parent or child accompanying voter entitled to absentee ballot; detained or confined in jail or prison.
An application for an absentee ballot may be obtained at the Rockville Centre school district’s Administration Building, 128 Shepherd Street, by calling (516) 255-8921, or it may be downloaded from the school district’s website, www.rvcschools.org
An application may be picked up in person in the office of the District Clerk no later than the day before the election.
The ballot itself must be received in the office of the District Clerk by 5 p.m. on May 15 — the day of the election.
