Accidents clog Oceanside and Island Park roads

It was a busy week for emergency responders in Oceanside and Island Park this week.

The Island Park Fire Department and the Nassau County Police Department responded to an overturned auto on Knickerbocker Avenue between New York and Broadway in Island Park on Thanksgiving Day. The driver lost control of his car, causing it to overturn. The IPFD treated him for minor injuries.

And on Nov. 29, the NCPD was called to the intersection of Long Beach Road and Weidner Avenue in Oceanside for a report of a two-car accident with one person trapped in their car. The NCPD’s Emergency Service Unit responded and used the jaws of life to free the driver. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The Oceanside Fire Department was also called and transported the driver of the other car.
