The mass was special because it was the Hispanic community's second anniversary of gathering as a group to worship using a Spanish-language liturgy. Hundreds of Valley Stream residents participated in the mass, concelebrated by Msgr. Pablo Rodriguez, Hispanic apostolic vicar of the Rockville Centre Diocese, with other priests and deacons.
At the reception following the mass, children acted out the Pilgrim's story of Plymouth Rock and the first Thanksgiving. Homemade foods were served at the reception.
Manuel J. Ramos, director of the Office of Hispanic Ministry for the diocese, also attended the second anniversary of the parish's Spanish mass and Thanksgiving celebration.
The community rejoiced in their faith, and gave their thanksgiving for the United States of America, Valley Stream, and for the blessings of health and family.
