Homework help. Every Tuesday and Thursday, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., children in grades K-12 are invited to attend instructional sessions with New York State certified teachers. Classes in math, science, social studies and English/Language Arts are provided. Registration is required and ongoing.
Spring planting. Join Christine Doctor for some useful tips on springtime planting. Learn about native plants, perennials and unusual annuals. Saturday March 24 at 10 a.m. Register by March 22.
Own your own home. Join a representative from the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America for a seminar on how you can qualify for a mortgage with payments you can afford. Saturday, March 31 at 10 a.m. Register by March 30.
Defensive driving. This one-day course being offered will help save you money and points on your license in the long run. Plus, learn some useful tips that could save your life one day. Saturday, April 7 at 9:30 a.m. Registration for the course is $45 per person. Register with payment by April 6.
Get organized. ³The organized lady² Judi Cohen will be teaching basic home organization, including bills, clearing up the clutter and tips to avoid losing your keys. Thursday, April 12 at 7 p.m. Register by April 11.
Belly dancing. The library will be hosting a fun-filled beginner lesson in belly dancing by teacher Martha Mancilla. Saturday, April 21 10 a.m. Register by April 20. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a scarf that can be wrapped around your waist.
Money Management Seminar. The library will be educating consumers about money management and how to make your money work for you in a seminar held on Saturday, March 10 a t 10 a.m.

New Eyes for the Needy a program started by the Women¹s Club of Malverne for residents to donate their used eyeglasses will have a receptacle located in the front vestibule of the library up until June The Women¹s Club of Malverne holds their regular meetings at the library.
Jump for Joy Joyce Oddo will be hosting tons of fun for your toddler at the Malverne Library¹s Children Services division. The sessions are divided in two parts and are currently running. Next sessions are March 8, 15 and 22 from 10:15 a.m to 12 p.m. $15 registration fee. You must come into the library to register.
Teen Yoga Instructor Lee Perrotta will lead a yoga session where you can learn to relax, unwind and exercise. The session is being held at the library on Monday, March 12 at 7 p.m. Teens from 6th grade and up are welcome. Please bring a mat or towel and wear loose clothing.
Baby Lapsit Join Jeanne Hall for day of fun with your baby, ages 1-15 months. There will be stories and songs. The session is limited to 20 children and takes place on Wednesday, March 28 at 1 p.m. Register on March 19.
Dance, Dance Revolution! The latest craze in interactive videogaming visits the library on Monday, April 16 at 7 p.m. The event is for teens ages 12-18 years. A ten foot video screen will project participants¹ awesome dance moves.

St. Patrick¹s Day Celebration it¹s never too late to celebrate St. Paddy¹s day. Come to the library on Sunday, March 25 at 2 p.m. for an afternoon of dancing, singing and wearing the green with Jimmy Moore. Moore and his fans will be singing along to old Irish tunes like Sweet Rosie O¹Grady and My Wild Irish Rose.
Computer classes. Slow-paced, hands-on workshops focused on various skill levels of computer use. Two-hour classes are held on Mondays, from 7 to 9 p.m., as follows: 5th Grade on March 5, and 6th Grade on March 12. The fee is $10. Register in advance.
Knit, crochet. Angie Gallo offers knit and crochet classes on Wednesday March 7, 14, 21. Fee is $1.00 per class. Registration is ongoing.
One-stroke painting. Karen Davidson will guide beginners on a one-stroke painting technique offered for $31 at the library. Registration is ongoing. The first class for beginners takes place on Tuesday, March 6 at 6:45 p.m. A second class is being offered on March 13.
School Events
Grease is the word. Malverne High school presents its annual musical ³Grease² on Friday, March 9 and Saturday March 10 at 8 p.m. in the Howard T. Herber Auditorium. Tickets are $8. Call (516) 593-7037 for ticket information.

Key Women of America will be hosting their 38th Annual Scholarship Luncheon on Sunday, March 10 from 12 to 4 p.m. The luncheon will raise scholarship money for students in the Malverne School District. The luncheon takes place at The Sterling, 345 Hicksville Road in Bethpage.
First annual craft fair. The PTSA of Malverne is seeking vendors for its spring craft fair which will be taking place on Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m. The deadline to be a vendor is April 10.
