Cathy Subbiondo, District 13 trustee, cut the ribbon to rededicate the building exactly 50 years after its original dedication on March 4, 1953, by Joseph Grimes, the first principal of Howell. Classes were first held in the building in September 1953. The Willow Road School was also dedicated in 1953.
The PTA Founder's Day celebration took place immediately following the rededication.
In attendance that evening were Valerie Clerico, the district's recently retired trustee, Legislator John Ciotti, a former Howell student, Town Councilman James Darcy and Town Supervisor Kate Murray, in addition to some parents, students, teachers and staff.
