Center for Science at Tanglewood Preserve, Rockville Centre, is a 17-acre preserve complete with ponds, nature trails, and a fishing pier. Run by the Center for Science Teaching and Learning, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to science education, the Center for Science offers an array of activities for children and adults year round. eyes on the world is a photo exhibit promoting world piece and cultural understanding. First shown at the United Nations, it was most recently exhibited in Pingyao, China. It is sponsored by the Alexia Foundation, begun by Aphrodite and Peter Tsairis after their daughter, a Syracuse University photojournalism students was killed in the bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 in 1988. Joe Fig is an exhibit of the Long Island native¹s diorama-like reconstruction sculptures of famous artists' studios. A star of the Chelsea gallery scene, Fig is best known for his take on 50s artists such as Pollock and deKooning. Through Nov. 5.
