Get a jump on Valentine’s Day and save the date for yourself and the ones you love: on Monday, Feb. 13, Lynbrook Restorative Therapy and Nursing (formely East Rockaway Progressive Care) and Village Taxi will partner to host a luncheon with music, flowers — courtesy of East Rockaway Florist — dancing, candy — and even a masseuse.
“We thought this would be a nice chance to give back to our seniors and the community,” said Carlton Williams, administrator at Lynbrook Restorative. “Jerry Ross and Arnie Gruber will be playing old standards and some jazz from yesteryear. You can get up and dance or just sit and listen.” Williams said that a tour of the facility will be available for those who are interested.
“I’ve lived here for 40 years and raised my daughter here,” said David O’Neill, owner of Village Taxi, located on Atlantic Avenue in Lynbrook. “We wanted to give something back.” Village Taxi will provide free transportation for Lynbrook and East Rockaway residents to and from the event between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. that day. Up to four passengers per ride. Just call and say, “Take me to ‘An Affair to Remember!”
