In Lawrence, Rock Hall Museum offers beautiful grounds for seasonal events. “Rock Hall has really expanded its programming over the years, with more concerts, educational programs, and community events,” said resident Carolyn Argento, Sales Manager of Douglas Elliman’s Long Beach and Merrick offices and licensed associate real estate broker.
“My favorite tradition has always been the Country Fair,” she said. “It's a wonderful weekend filled with old-fashioned activities. I always enjoyed making scarecrows with my children, browsing handmade crafts, and learning about the home’s history, which dates back to 1767. It's a great way to experience local history.”
Residents of Woodmere can enjoy the scenic Woodmere Docks, a favorite spot for fishing and watching the sunset.
Hewlett’s Grant Park features a picturesque lake, walking and biking paths, tennis and basketball courts, baseball and softball fields, fishing and even seasonal ice skating.
Known for its beautiful ocean beaches and boardwalk, Atlantic Beach has a longstanding beach club tradition. The clubs offer children's day camps, swimming, sports, family activities and events throughout the summer, making them a place where generations of families return year after year.
"My children grew up spending their summers at the beach club,” Argento said. “Now I'm fortunate to watch my grandchildren enjoy those same traditions. It's more than a day at the beach. It's the friendships, activities, sense of community and making memories together that keep families coming back."
North Woodmere Park offers a nine-hole golf course, driving range, swimming complex, pickleball and tennis courts, trails, playgrounds, picnic areas, fishing and a dog park.
Inwood Park features waterfront walking paths, a boat launch, fishing, tennis and basketball courts, baseball fields, playgrounds and picnic areas.
Andrew J. Parise Park in Cedarhurst offers open green space, playgrounds and more. It serves as the setting for a variety of community events.
“It’s always been my favorite because we lived nearby for many years,” Argento said. “We always looked forward to the Tuesday night summer concerts.”
“Those simple summer evenings together are memories I'll always treasure.”
