Police say that fourth precinct officer Joseph Grella observed Hiram Vega, 25 of No. William Street in Baldwin, exit a stolen 1996 Honda Accord outside a house on Eileen Road.
Officer Grella arrested Vega in front of a residence on Grand Avenue in Baldwin. Vega was charged with two counts of grand larceny in the 3rd degree/motor vehicle, one count each of possession of burglary tools and unlawful possession of marijuana.
Robbery at 7-11
First squad detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred in Baldwin on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 4:10 a.m.
According to detectives, an unknown male entered the 7-11 store at 1271 Grand Avenue. The suspect approached the clerk, pointed what the victim believed to be a handgun under his shirt, and demanded cash. After taking the night's receipts, the subject fled on foot. He was described as a white male, 5'10" tall. There were no injuries reported.

Shotguns stolen
According to police at the first precinct, a residence on Fairview Avenue was burglarized on Monday, Sept. 6 at 1:40 p.m. Two shotguns were reportedly stolen. Entry was gained through an open front door.
Burglary at Pathmark Shopping Center
It has been reported that recyclable cans were stolen from Pathmark on Grand Avenue sometime between 11 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11 and 7 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12. Police say entry was gained by removing chains.
Auto thefts
n A 2000 Audi was stolen from Stratford Road sometime between 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 and 5:50 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13.
n A 1990 Plymouth Sundance was stolen on Grand Avenue and Sunrise Highway on Thursday, Sept. 16 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
n A 1993 Dodge Caravan was stolen at the Long Island Rail Road parking lot on Sunrise Highway on Thursday, Sept. 16 between 5:20 a.m. and 4 p.m.
n A 1998 Honda Civic was stolen on Brooklyn Avenue on Monday, Sept. 13 sometime between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.
n A 1993 Acura Integra was stolen on Stratford Road sometime between 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12 and 5:50 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13.
