Arrest in home invasion

      Last Thursday, police arrested a Brooklyn man in connection with the home invasion, the second arrest in the case. Roger Lebron, 39, of 1008 St. Mark-s Ave., is charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny.
      Another suspect, Roberto Ortiz, 31, of 686 Fairview Ave., Ridgewood, was arrested last June 25 by the Fifth Squad and the Bureau of Special Operations, which were acting on a tip provided by an unidentified informant. Ortiz was also charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny. He pleaded guilty to the charges, according to the Nassau County District Attorney-s Office. He was sentenced to five years in prison on Feb. 3.
      According to police, on April 2, 2003 shortly before 9 a.m., the two suspects allegedly confronted the woman inside the garage of her East Maujer Street home as she got out of her 2000 Chevrolet Blazer. The woman told police that the men asked for her husband by name, and then one of them allegedly grabbed her around the neck and covered her mouth before forcing her inside the house, police said.
      The suspects allegedly led her to her basement, where they bound her hands with her own shoelaces and her feet with rope, police said. For two hours the victim remained tied up while the two men alternated between watching her and ransacking her home.
      After several unsuccessful attempts to open a safe in the basement, the men fled with the safe, cash and jewelry in the victim-s truck, police said.
