"Back to basics" and "Quantum states" showcases works by two local artists, Oceanside's Judith Huttner and Bellmore's Mara Szalajda. Huttner's paintings focus on color dynamics and color relationships. Szalajda's art reflects things observed in the natural world and the scientific community. Through Aug. 29. Where the Island Begins: Artists of Long Island's western shore is an exhibit of contemporary art from Long Island's vibrant western shores, otherwise known as Brooklyn.
