The Firebird Dance

The New York Theater Ballet,which has performed for audiences throughout the nation, is putting on "The Magic of Dance" (above photo) at Nassau Community College in Garden City on March 18. Based on the Russian folktale "The Firebird," the ballet is geared toward both kids and grown-ups. "The Magic of Dance" can serve as an introduction for children to the classic dance form. Jazz is 'Dead'

A jazz ensemble featuring guitarist Jeff Pevar, bassist Alphonso Johnson, keyboardist T. Lavitz, drummer Rod Morgenstein is coming to the Westbury Music Fair on March 22. Their touring show, monikered "Jazz is Dead," is an acoustic exploration into the Greatful Dead's landmark recordings "Working Man's Beauty" and "American Beauty."
