Both O'Reilly and Myatt have served on the committee since the second RVC St. Patrick's Parade in 1996.
"I am so proud to be a member of the Rockville Centre Parade Committee not only because it provides us another opportunity to celebrate our Irish heritage, " O'Reilly said, "but because it also serves as a reminder of where we came from, the struggles our parents and grandparents faced when they immigrated here from Ireland and other countries, and how they worked to overcome those adversities and become successful and powerful forces in this country. Because of the hard work and success of our forebears, the RVC parade is able to give back to those less fortunate than we through our three chosen charities each year. I encourage everyone to support the parade through our fund raising activities and by being there on Maple Avenue of March 24, 2007."
Currently Senior Vice President in the Americas Division of Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd., O'Reilly was born in Brisbane, Australia to parents who were born and raised in County Cavan, Ireland. He came to the United States when he was six. The father of Caitlin, Kerry and Erin, O'Reilly was married to Colleen Sullivan, a lifelong resident of Rockville Centre who died in December 2004 after a long battle with leukemia.
Myatt, who has lived in Rockville Centre with her husband Rick for 33 years, served as the St. Patrick's Parade Committee Protocol Chairperson for six years before co-chairing the Grand Marshal's Reception. She has had numerous leadership roles in the community including three decades of active support for Mercy Medical Center. She served on the Rockville Centre Centennial Celebration Committee, and she is an active member of St. Agnes Cathedal Parish where she and her husband twice chaired the annual Parish Celebration. She also served for ten years on the Board of the St. Agnes Cathedral School Mothers Club and is a past member of the St. Agnes School Home School Association.
The Myatts have three sons, Christopher (married to Shannon Quinn Myatt); Ricky; and Kevin. They are the proud grandparents of Jack Patrick Myatt, born in May 2006.
"I have been involved with the parade since its second year," Myatt said, "and it is a joy to be part of such a dedicated group of people who work so hard all year long to make the RVC parade the success that it is."
