New York state assemblymen Brian Curran, left, and Ed Ra will be sponsoring a job fair to assist in matching businesses to qualified job seekers. The event is scheduled for March 16 from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave.
“In this current economic climate, this job fair is shaping up to be a who’s who in the business world, and is sure to be helpful to both employers and individuals looking for jobs,” said Curran.
The focus of the fair is to help returning veterans find meaningful employment; however all are welcome.
“It is our priority to ensure that our returning heroes are given the support they need and the opportunities they so deserve. Our veterans fought for our country with pride and honor, and this job fair is our tribute to them,” Curran said.
To date, more than 60 businesses have signed on to participate, including British Airways; The New York City Police Department; Camp Systems International; Rallye Motors; The MTA; GEICO; South Nassau, Winthrop, St. Francis and North Shore University Hospitals; Molloy College, SUNY Farmingdale and SUNY Old Westbury Colleges; a number of health related enterprises; credit unions; not-for-profits and private companies.
