At St. Agnes, the learning continues after the final bell

Posted

During a typical school day, the nearly 900 students at St. Agnes Cathedral Elementary School are quietly focused on traditional subjects such as math, science and English. Yet, when the final bell rings many students remain on campus to continue the learning process by participating in a number of extracurricular activities such as band, drama club, competitive sports teams and an array of enrichment courses.

The School Board at St. Agnes has created an enrichment curriculum that appeals to all students. Younger children are introduced to cooking and kitchen skills in the “Future Chefs” class or can now choose craft-based classes or the indoor soccer clinic run by a professional NOGA soccer coach. Older students can choose from a wide variety of classes including chess club, dramatics, tennis, digital photography, advanced crafts, candy-making, and the indoor golf program held at Pinnacle Golf Club.

The enrichment program runs three times during the academic year with class offerings in the fall, winter and a predominantly sports-themed session in the spring. The current fall enrichment session has over 120 students registered in 11 different classes.
