Author finds an unlikely war story

      Few subjects have been more written about than World War II. From Pearl Harbor through the Battle for Stalingrad, invasion of Normandy, and, of course, the Holocaust.
      An often underwritten area of WWII history involved the unlikely friendships that blossomed between American servicemen and Chinese citizens. In his first novel Born of War, Dave Feldman offers a glimpse of this little known aspect of the war years.
      Feldman, a fifteen year Long Beach resident, based his novel on a true story, the experiences of his Uncle Howard during a time in history when people like to believe the United States had a greater innocence about it, when most citizens placed their trust in the government.
