On May 15, residents in the Baldwin School District approved the $105.7 million dollar proposed budget for the 2007-08 school year.
The budget passed by a margin of 487 votes. The total numbers: 1751 in favor, 1264 opposed. The approval means a 4.98 percent tax levy increase to residents over the current budget. According to the district's web site, the tax increase is $28 dollars extra next year for a house valued at $420,000.
In addition to the budget approval, Board of Education Trustees James T. Scannell and Mary Clark were both re-elected to three-year terms.
