Baseball in Baldwin

Baseball has started in Baldwin.

Registration for Baldwin Little League will be held on Jan. 23 at 999 Church St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. or at www.BaldwinSports.com.

Registration is suggested now because team practice starts in less than two months, said treasurer Thomas P. Reilly of Baldwin Sports League.

The kids of Baldwin Sports Little League and the Long Island Royals Summer Travel organizations began their Winter Warm up earlier this month, Reilly said.

The hitting session was led by former professional baseball player Doug Manfedonia. In addition to the hitting session there is also a pitching, fielding and conditioning session during the week, he said.

The Winter Warm up runs until the end of February; participants will be ready to open the season.
