This year's festival - the 19th - had a Disney fantasy theme. The festivities began with a parade of Magic Kingdom and other costumed characters down Bedford Avenue on Saturday. And the chamber booth was done up as a giant cardboard castle.
On hand were a host of local organizations, including the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Kiwanis and Lions clubs, Sons of Italy and Knights of Columbus. As always, the Central High School District hosted a crafts table at the Kids Expo. And businesses up and down Bedford Avenue had the chance to show off their wares.
Herald Community Newspapers had a booth beside Petite Florist on Pettit Avenue. The Herald gave away hundreds of newspapers, balloons and rulers for school children. And, as always, staffers had a great time, thanks to the incredible efforts of festival coordinator Joni Caputo, the chamber's executive director, and the chamber's Festival Committee. Thanks for all you do.
