Bias incident in Lawrence

Graffiti with anti-Semitic messages was discovered on Monday night in an alleyway on the property of Paprika, a ladies shoe store on 392 Central Avenue, police said.
According to detectives, a swastika, a picture of a German eagle, the letters "SS" and the word "no" were spray painted on the side of the store building.
It was not immediately known if the graffiti had been removed from the wall, which does not face Central Avenue.
The store owner, who is Jewish, apparently told police that he did not have disputes with anyone that could be linked to the bias crime, a 4th Squad detective said. Paprika's owner could not be reached for comment as of Wednesday.
A bias-related incident in the Five Towns last occurred in October, when swastikas were written on stop signs in Cedarhurst. In September, the Inwood Country Club was vandalized with a series of swastikas and anti-Semitic slurs. Five days before the Inwood Country Club incident, a 17-year-old Hewlett girl, who police said identified herself as an "agnostic Nazi" was accused of attacking three Orthodox Jewish girls in Cedarhurst.
Police said suspects in this week's bias incident are unknown at this time.
Detectives urge anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, police said.
