Terrence Winters led the way with a career-high five tallies, while Zach Rodgers added four scores and a pair of assists. The win capped a week in which the Bruins knocked off perennial powerhouse Lynbrook, 10-9 on April 7, and nearly toppled Massapequa, the defending Nassau County Class A champions.
In the 10-9 overtime loss to the Chiefs on April 10, the Bruins saw a two-goal lead turn into a 9-8 deficit in the closing minutes, before Rodgers scored the equalizer with less than two minutes to play in regulation. Despite his four goals and three assists, Baldwin's hopes for a win were thwarted when Matt Hurst scored with 1:27 left in overtime.
Rodgers, the top scorer in the history of Baldwin lacrosse, leads the team with 23 goals, while Winters now has 15 in his first year as a starter at the varsity level.
The Bruins are at Oceanside this Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by a home date with rival Long Beach on April 25 at 4:30 p.m.
