The Bruins came out with bats blazing from the first inning and won a convincing 13-0 decision with junior Joe Esposito throwing a two-hitter and striking out 12 on May 20.
During infield and outfield practice you generally get a good idea of how your team looks, Baldwin coach Frank Esposito said. And with our guys, that ball was just zipping all over the place. You could see it in their eyes that they were ready to play.
Esposito was dominant, in allowing just the two hits and four walks, and hit his only real trouble spot when he allowed the Sailors to open the fourth inning with a base hit and two walks. But the junior, who settled into the No. 1 role on the mound down the stretch, buckled down and struck out the side ending Oceanside
