The Long Beach Police Department said that C&C Deli, at 801 W. Beech St., was burglarized over the weekend.

The owner of the deli said that the incident occurred at 3:18 a.m. last Saturday. The glass was broken on the front door of the business, and the suspect entered and took more than $1,000 in cash. The owner said that the business has surveillance cameras; police said the investigation is ongoing and declined to comment further.

The owner said that she is not aware of any similar incidents at other businesses in the area. She said that while the suspect looked like “they knew exactly where to go” in the deli, she has no idea who could have committed the burglary.

She said that the suspect did not break any equipment, and the deli was able to reopen. She said she hopes that the police will be able to make an arrest.

“I need closure,” the owner said. “I’m not sleeping right; I’m not living right.”
