The Bellmore Village Merchants Association, which sponsored the festivities, recently announced this year's winners. They are as follows:
€ First place for the festive winter scenes painted on the outside of its corner windows went to Pilot Drafting and Consulting, 112 Bedford Ave.
€ Second place for the exquisite holiday merchandise display in the window, and the painted lamppost and other images framing it, went to Illuminessence Candle and Gift Shoppe, at 507 Bedford Ave.
€ Third place for the exquisite hand-painted garlands running the length of its windows on two blocks went to Mediterranean Grill, at 195 Bedford Ave.
A drawing was held among the trolley riders to thank them for participating. The winner of a basket filled with gift certificates from local village merchants was Betty Thomson of Bellmore.
