“Painting” with Polymer Clay at the Oceanside Library
A startling kaleidoscope of color, shapes, whimsical designs, and rich details are vivid components of Joan Israel’s art exhibit “Painting with Polymer Clay.” The exhibit will open on May 1 and remain on display at the library through June 30.
“Coming up Roses” with the Oceanside Garden Club, Tuesday, June 8. Cathy Guzzardo, Master Gardener and Vice President of the Long Island Rose Society, gives “rosarians” advice on cultivating these romantic flowers. New members welcome! Refreshments will be served. 7p.m.

Maffei is the founder of the poetry journal American Tanka and author of Drops from her Umbrella. A collection of sharp, accessible little 5-line poems depicting moments in a life, from corporate offices to domestic life to international travel. There will also be a reading from her next book, Girl With a Secret. In addition there will be an open poetry/spoken work. Multi-Family Garage Sale
The Island Park United Methodist Church, 364 Long Beach Road, will host a multi-family garage sale from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on May 29. The Little Seashell School will also be running a used toy and book table. Proceeds from the toy sale will be going towards a new piece of playground equipment. Any donations will be accepted. Come on down and see what the vendors have for sale! Vender spots are available for $20 each. You must supply your own tables.
