Arielle and the Night Lights
This trio, led by talented vocalist Arielle Adamy, will perform a medley of jazz standards along with a bit of the blues and some sultry bossa nova on Feb. 8 at 2 p.m. Tickets are required.

Flowing Style Yoga with Dr. Peg
All are welcome to join Dr. Peg and experience the health and wellness benefits of flowing style yoga on Feb. 9 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The session will combine a series of postures with rhythmic breathing for a gentle body workout. Digital TV Transition Information
A Radioshack representative will be providing information about why the digital television transition is occurring, the benefits digital television offers viewers, what people need to do in order to continue receiving over-the-air television broadcasts after the conversion occurs, and how to apply for up to two $40 government coupons per household to help reduce the costs of obtaining a digital converter box.Register at the Circulation Desk for the program, which is Feb. 9 from 6:30-8 p.m.

Valentine Chocoholics Workshop
For ages 8 and up. A chocolate making class just in time for Valentine’s Day. Learn how to make almond joys, peanut butter cups and chocolate potato chips on Feb. 12 from 4-5 p.m. Participants will receive a gift box to give to that special someone. Limited to 25 participants. Student Musicians
at the Tilles Center
Members of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts will perform at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7. The Wind Symphony and Concert Band will perform at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall on Feb. 6, and the Jazz Band, Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. at the Hillwood Recital Hall on Feb. 7. Tickets for the concerts are $20 general admission and $10 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the box office the night of the show. Love Your Troops
The Island Park Civic Association will be hosting a dinner on Feb. 14, Valentine’s Day, at the Bridgeview Yacht Club in Island Park. From 7-11 p.m. enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, a three-course surf and turf sit-down dinner, DJ and dancing, door prizes and raffles all for $60 a person.And the IPCA is teaming with Soldiers’ Angels to collect donations and supplies for soldiers overseas. Oceanside’s first Relay for Life
On Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at the high school, there will be a kick-off event for the Relay for Life, an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society that will take place in June. It is an all-nighter of people walking/running the track, entertainment, survivor’s stories, and more. The event on Feb. 9 is to explain the project, recruit participants and set up committees to plan for the June event.

Oceanside School 6 is hosting a guest speaker, at its Feb. 10 PTA meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. Kara Andreski, RD, project coordinator of Heart Links at the Department of Family Medicine at SUNY Stony Brook will be talking about the current food supply and the impact of the food supply on the individual, how food affects our mind and body, the scope of obesity and the complications associated with obesity, marketing towards children, and what Heart Links can provide for the

Crime Scene Investigation
Join former cop and homicide and sex crimes prosecutor Bob Biancavilla as he presents a vivid account of how forensic science solves tough cases ripped from the headlines on Feb. 11 from 2-3 p.m. Learn about evidence recovery, analysis and comparison. A Day in the Life of a Book with Author/Illustrator Steven Petruccio
Kids of all ages will love this enlightening program of art and imagination that traces the history of illustration as a vital art form. The Jews of Sing-Sing
Hear all about the thousands of Jews who did a “stretch up the river” from Manhattan to the “Big House” when nationally-known scholar and author Ron Arons discusses his new book, The Jews of Sing-Sing, on Feb. 19 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Learn about notorious gangsters and lesser-known gonuvim (thieves), and take a private virtual tour of the 180 year-old prison that still operates as a maximum security correctional facility.
