Island Park man, 23, struggles to get back to busy life
He was vibrant and energetic. He was independent and hardworking. Then he got cancer.
Scott Viglietta, 23, had grown up in Island Park and lived there until he moved to Brooklyn in September, but it was Friday, Oct. 6, when his life really changed.
He had boarded a Manhattan-bound train from Island Park after working a shift at the library. He was on his way to an employee seminar at the main offices of his other employer, Disney, when pain across his upper body forced him to get off the train at Valley Stream and call his father to take him to the hospital. I thought I was having a heart attack, Viglietta said.
It would be a little over a year that he worked as an usher for the Broadway show Lion King
