Stephanie Matina, the district’s Career Preparation and New Horizons Coordinator, was given the “Work Experience Coordinator of the Year” award for her efforts to bring career information and experiences to high school students. The award was given by the Workplace Experience Coordinators Association at its annual conference.
Matina works closely with OHS guidance counselor Michele Melillo who organizes several career-related events each year for students including Teens on The Job. Ms. Matina will once again take students on career-oriented trips to the Nassau County courts and to Google’s NYC offices this spring.
