Carey musician ranked among best in NY

      Louis is one of Carey's most active musicians both in and out of school. He can be spotted in many of Carey's performing groups including Senior Orchestra, Senior Jazz Band, the pit orchestra for the school musicals and the District Orchestra.
      Outside of school Louis plays string bass in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and the Long Island String Festival Orchestra. He has also played bass for the All-County Jazz Ensemble, the Nassau-Suffolk Jazz Ensemble, the Nassau Community College Big Band and Small Band Group, The Renegade Jazz Ensemble and this past July attended the Summer Jazz Studies program at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester.
      In addition to all of his playing Louis takes Advanced Placement courses, is a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, The Foreign Language Honor Society and The National Honor Society and has maintained a spot on the High Honor Roll every semester while here at Carey ensuring him a top academic ranking among his classmates.
