Dr. Patrick O’Shaughnessy has stepped down as president and chief executive officer of Catholic Health, effective immediately, the organization announced.
“Catholic Health thanks Dr. O’Shaughnessy for his many years of service to the organization and wishes him well in his future endeavors,” Lisa Greiner, vice president of public relations and communications, said in a statement to the Herald.
Following his departure, Gary Havican, the organization’s chief operating officer, has been appointed interim president and chief executive officer. Catholic Health’s Board of Directors has begun a national search for a permanent successor.
The organization said it remains focused on maintaining operational continuity, advancing its strategic priorities and continuing its mission of providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients and communities throughout the region.
