Members of the Rockville Centre Youth Council and their guests welcomed in the Lunar New Year — the year of the dragon — with a well-attended event at the Palace of Wong Restaurant on Jan. 20. They enjoyed Chinese delicacies, served up by the restaurant’s staff and its owners, David and Jackie Wong, and enjoyed each other’s company to the tune of karaoke music. The next Youth Council event is a Coffee House Jam Night Open Mic program that is scheduled for Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. at Revolution Yoga, 7 North Village Ave. There is no charge for any of the Youth Council’s events and if you know of potential performers, contact Taylor Kosakoff at tkosakoff@gmail.com with your suggestions. The next Youth Council meetings, at 7:30 p.m in the Rec Center, will take place on March 13, April 1 and May 8.
