Wellington C. Mepham High School students marched down Bedford and Pettit Avenues. This year, the school's Alumni and Sports Booster Associations honored Vince Proto, a Mepham graduate, as well as past treasurer of the Boosters and current president of the Alumni Association.
Proto was one the original members of the Booster Association and is one of the strongest supporters of the school.
In addition, the Mepham football team played host to Sewanhaka High School at 2 p.m., with the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen at half-time.
At John F. Kennedy High School students marched down Bellmore Avenue toward the school.
During the Sanford H. Calhoun's Homecoming game, students cheered their football team, the Colts, as they defeated the Lawrence team by 21 to 14.
