Central seniors look back and ahead

Central High School’s seniors will walk across the stage to receive their diplomas next week, officially signaling the start of a new chapter in their lives. Many will be going off to college and start chasing their dreams, but not before enjoying their summer.

A few seniors took time out of their day to share their future plans and reflect on their academic careers to this point.

Jeffrey Chance

College: Maryland Institute of College
of Art

Plans to study: Film and video production

Dream job: Director and filmmaker 

Elementary school: Shaw Avenue 

Activities: Future Business Leaders of America, Class of 2014, honor societies, SADD, peer mentors

Best high school memory: Winning state FBLA for business presentation on luncheon etiquette my junior year after failing three times at public speaking.

Summer plans: I have to get a job and I have to learn how to drive at some point. Also enjoy the summer after all the hard work of high school. 

 

Chazz Inniss

College: Syracuse University

Plans to study:
Magazine journalism and digital media

Dream job: Editor-in-chief or digital director at a magazine, hopefully GQ

Elementary school: Clear Stream Avenue

Activities: Morning TV, National Honor Society, YOLO-SGD (You Only Live Once- See Greater Differences, a community service organization), tutoring, academic honor societies, SADD, volleyball

Best high school memory: Getting involved in my various clubs and activities, but also getting involved with volleyball.

Summer plans: I’m trying to find work so that I can get money for books. I’m also going to be going to Costa Rica for a vacation. 

 

Simone Boyd

College: Stony Brook University

Plans to study:
Psychology, minor in Spanish

Dream job: I want to open my own bilingual psychology practice

Elementary school: Shaw Avenue

Activities: Class of 2014, Central High School Seekers Christian Club, SADD, YOLO-SGD, National Honor Society, academic honor societies, 

Best high school memory: Every day second period, my free period, I got to sit and enjoy my friends’ company, I got to talk to my teachers and we talked about everything. It was nice and relaxing.

Summer plans: I don’t know if I’m going to work. I know I’m going to volunteer. This summer is just for having this last, big fun summer with everyone from high school.
