The Rockville Centre recreation center held its annual Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 11. While kids told their Christmas wishes to Kris Kringle, families were served breakfast by more than a hundred Santa’s elf helpers.
According to Tony Brunetta, parks and recreation superintendant, the main donor of the event was the Pantry Diner.
“In spite of the fire they recently had at their diner, they still went out of their way to be sure they’d be here to cook the pancakes,” Brunetta said. “The cooks from the diner, Tommy Mavroudis and Dino Glykos, donated the batter and stayed here from start to finish to cook thousands of pancakes.”
Brunetta also thanked Associated Supermarket for donating all of the milk, as well as Mr. and Mrs. Knoch for their roles as Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
Dan O’Connor was also thanked for helping to dispense refreshments, along with the middle and high school volunteers for their roles as the helper elves.
