City’s Fall Festival draws huge crowds

Thousands turned out for The City of Long Beach’s Fall Festival last weekend at Kennedy Plaza in Long Beach.

Visitors enjoyed the rides, including a carousel, fire truck and hay rides, as well as the pumpkin patch, a haunted house, a Kids Korner crafts tent, and petting zoo, in addition to food and beverages. The event also featured vendors who sold handmade goods, and a Wine & Food tent with specialty dishes offered by local restaurants, along with a wine tasting from Long Island wineries.

The Girl Scouts volunteered their time in the Kids Korner tent, where they assisted children in making fall-themed crafts.

“It went great,” said City Councilman John McLaughlin. “People enjoyed the food and we had a parade where awards were given for best original costume.”
