Baldwin’s annual Big Sweep, organized by Sanitary District 2, was held over the weekend. The event, originally sponsored by the Beautiful Baldwin Foundation, represents an opportunity for Baldwin residents to pitch in and do a little “spring cleaning” along Grand Avenue and other major roadways.

The intention of the event is not only to tidy up around town, but also to ensure that Baldwin sparkles when the Memorial Day Parade rolls through next weekend. (For parade details, see page 3.)

Pitching in at this year’s event were dozens of people, young and old, who took advantage of brooms, bags and other cleaning supplies provided by Sani2.

Persons and organizations wanting to participate in future cleanups can contact Sanitary District No. 2 at (516) 223-3207 or by visiting www.sani2.com.
