Collecting for the Burns family at South Side Homecoming

This Saturday, Oct. 22, Rose Muldoon, a senior at South Side High School and her cousin, Michaela Lynch, a junior at South Side High School, will collect donations for Kathy Burns at South Side’s Homecoming game. Kathy has been an art teacher in Rockville Centre for many years and has taught many of the children in the community. After a multi-visceral transplant, she is doing well and is on the road to recovery. Rose and Michaela are looking to assist the Burns family by collecting donations for their medical and financial expenses. Visitors can help by stopping by the game and dropping off a donation.  Donations can also be made by making a tax-deductible contribution to the National Transplant Assistance Fund (ntafund.org), in honor of “Kathy Burns” or directly to the family, Brian and Kathy Burns, 329 Cedar St., South Hempstead, N.Y. 11550.
