Baldwin Public Library Board of Trustees meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. The
meetings are open to the community. Library hours are as follows: October to
June: Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. Saturday from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Sunday
from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. July to Labor Day, summer hours: Monday-Thursday 9 a.m.-9
p.m., Fridays 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Teen Game Night The Teen Zone at the Baldwin Library is hosting Teen game Night on Wed., Jan. 16
from 7 to a:30 p.m. The program is for kids and teens in grades 5-12 and are

Business Women The L.I. Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA)
will hold its next dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 16, at Palace of Wong 348 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre. This event

Nassau Community College Departments of Theatre and Dance and African American Studies Presents: "An
Evening With Langston Hughes and Friends, " January 25 - 27 and January 30 -
February 3. Nassau Community College proudly present the play "An Evening With
Langston Hughes and Friends" directed by Bruce Edwin Jenkins. Legendary poet Langston Hughes' work has been called 'the music of the Harlem
Renaissance.' His poetry penetrated the souls of many African Americans and told stories of pain, love, misery and hope that
served as the textual backdrop of this era in black history. "An Evening With Langston Hughes and Friends" brings this body of work to life
in an evening of poetry, music and song. Tickets cost $9.00. Senior tickets (55 and over) are $7.00, as are those for NCC alumni or groups of
ten or more. Children 12 and under may attend a performance for $5.00. Tickets for those currently attending college or high school are free with valid
ID. Performances are at 8:00 p.m. daily, except for Sunday's, when they're at

Pajama storytime for 3-year-olds to Kindergarten on Wednesday, January 16 at 7:00 PM. This story time lasts about one half hour and include stories, songs,
fingerplays, and more. Registration is necessary and begins December 26.
Storytimes The Baldwin Public Library will be having Toddler Plus Story Times for 2-to 3-
year-olds and a parent or caregiver on Thursdays at 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM
beginning on January 10 through February 14. These sessions last about one half
hour and include stories, songs, fingerplays, and nursery rhymes. Registration
is necessary and begins December 13. Where registration is limited, preference will be given to residents of the

Looking for help landing a new job? The Baldwin Public Library Offers Free One-On-One Career Counseling. The days of
reading the classifieds and mailing out a few dozen resumes are over.
Job-hunting is a stressful activity. To help ease the stress, the Baldwin Public Library is pleased to provide free,
one-on-one career counseling to Nassau County residents. This service is
available to unemployed people, as well as those looking to change jobs or
career direction. Both day and evening hours are available. Those interested should call the Baldwin Public Library's Reference Department
at (516) 223-6228 for an appointment. In January, Mrs. Feinstein will begin a
free, five-part seminar series at the library titled, “Why Should I Hire You? Five Steps To Landing Your Dream Job." Muriel Feinstein is a career development
specialist with over 25 years career counseling experience ranging from entry-
level applicants to upper level management.
Learn & Play The Baldwin Public Library will be having Learn & Play sessions for 1-to-3-year-olds with a parent or caregiver on Wednesdays at
10:00 – 11:15 AM in January. These sessions feature playtime for tots and professionals (speech pathologist,
dietitian, social worker) that meet with parents to answer early childhood
questions. Registration is required and begins December 19.
Long term care insurance education and outreach On Thursday, January 24, at 11:00 a.m. Join Mike Temares, Counselor for the New
York State Partnership for Long Term Care, who will educate (not permitted to
sell) Nassau residents on preparing financially for nursing home care, home
care, and assisted living expenses. This seminar focuses on the protection of assets, Medicaid extended coverage,
state tax benefits, alternatives to insufficient private insurance,
eligibility, and the application process. Telephone registration begins Wednesday, December 19 at the Adult Reference Desk

Yoga for Well-Being on Mondays, January 8, 15, 22, 29 and February 5, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Yoga can enhance strength, fl exibility and balance as well as promote mental focus and relaxation. Th is mixed-level class taught by yoga instructor Livia Polise is for all ages and fitness levels. In-person registration ongoing at the Adult Reference Desk. Fee is $15.00 (includes personal yoga mat).
