Volunteers needed - Long Island Crisis Center (LICC), the oldest 24-hour, seven-day-week crisis intervention and suicide prevention hotline, is looking for volunteers for the upcoming Volunteer Counselor Assistant Training Program. Volunteers needed - Retired and Senior Volunteer Program Community Computer Connections Program provides refurbished computers at no cost to families in Nassau and Suffolk who are not able to afford equipment. The furniture exchange - is an organization that coordinates the donation of used (but in good condition) furniture and other household items with less fortunate families that are in need of those items. Artist Reception. The Long Island landscape paintings of Rockville Centre native Tad Sheppard will be on display atd the center during January. The artist will be on hand on Jan. 15 at 11 a.m. to discuss his work. Refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.

 Open Gym Schedule - For grades 4 and up. Open gym is free play basketball in the main gymnasium of the Rec Center with a valid recreation card. The gym will be open for basketball every Saturday afternoon from 2 - 4:30 p.m. for grades 4 and up; evening open gym for grades 6 and up will be held on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 - 10:15 p.m.
Pre-school openings - A few openings in pre-kindergarten classes available for children entering kindergarten in 2008 and 2009. Call Peggy at the Rec Center for more info.
Aerobic Exercise - Aerobics classes are offered by Nancy’s Aerobics on Mon., Tues. and Thurs. evenings at 7 p.m. Classes are on-going and can be paid for daily. Classes are conducted in the Rec Center gym.
Nursery School Registration - Registration for the 2007-08 Nursery School programs is now being accepted for all Rockville Centre residents and non-residents.
Square Dancing - With nationally known caller Lee Kopman takes place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7 - 10 p.m. Fee: $5 per person. on-going.

Golden Jubilee Year Concluding Liturgy. Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Cathedral, 29 Quealy Place.The celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre will conclude with a concelebrated liturgy with Bishop William Murphy, auxiliary bishops and priests of the diocese. All are invited to attend this Mass.
