The Merrick-Bellmore Concert Association, which is counted among Long Island "premiere artistic community endeavors," recently announced its 2000-2001 season of performances at Calhoun High School in Merrick.
-The first program, on Sunday, October 22, at 3 P.M., will be the Elmer Iseler Singers. This 21-voice choir, based in Toronto, Canada, has built "an enviable international reputation" since their debut in 1979. Noted for their "flawless technique and wide interpretive range," they span 500 years of choral music in their repertoire.
-On Sunday, November 12, at 3 P.M., flautist Carol Wincenc and harpist Nancy Allen will perform. This duo has played internationally with renowned artists such as Emanuel Ax, Yo Yo Ma and Jessie Norman.
-The Philadelphia Virtuosi Orchestra, with piano soloist Gabriela Imreh, will perform on Saturday, March 10 at 8:30 P.M. Founded in 1991, Music Director and Conductor Daniel Spalding brings "a distinguished background to this ensemble" that has established him as a "conductor of unquestionable artistic stature" worldwide.
-The season winds down on Saturday, April 21 at 8:30 P.M. with the Klezmer Conservatory Band. Now in its 20th season, the group has been in demand from coast to coast and in Europe. They have performed on PBS and with Itzhak Perlman in "The Fiddler's House."

To subscribe for this four-concert series (tickets to individual performances are not sold), one may send a letter with name, address and telephone number and a check made out to the Merrick-Bellmroe Community Concert Association, P.O.
