Golf outing. Calhoun Sports Boosters Golf Outing will be held on June 28 at 1 p.m. at the Lido Country Club. Cost is $160 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, a hole-in-one contest, and cocktails and dinner. 2nd budget vote. Voting will take place on Thursday, June 23, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the North Merrick Library.


Kids summer reading. This year the library has chosen a musical theme for the summer reading incentive program, called "Tune in at Your Library," for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade in September. Registration began Monday, June 20.


July Bus trip. The July bus trip will be a day at the Williams Lake Hotel, north of New York City. The trip will include a luncheon and a two-act show with comedy, singing, sing-a-long music and dancing on Thursday, July 7, from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Trip to Pollock-Krasner home. Trip to Jackson Pollock-Lee Krasner house includes lunch at Gurney's Inn and a tour of Jack Larsen's Long House Reserve on Wednesday, July 13. Fee is $61, all inclusive. Sign-up for Merrick residents began Thursday, May 12; for non-residents, June 1 at the Merrick Library Express.


Kids Summer Reading Club. Registration begins June 27 at the Merrick Library Express and at the gazebo in town.


Museum passes. Library will loan a family pass for four to the Museum of Natural History and to the Metropolitan Museum of Art or Old Westbury Gardens. Call (516) 377-0279 for details.

Great Decisions discussion group. The Foreign Policy Association Great Decisions discussion group will meet on Thursdays through June 23, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at the North Merrick Library. Merrick and non-Merrick residents can register at the Merrick Library Express. There is a $5 workbook fee for Merrick residents, $10 for non-residents. For more information, call reference.


Teens review books. Teenagers ages 12 to 18 can read three books, review them and then select a free paperback book. Review forms are available at the Merrick Library Express or online at www.merricklibrary.org/TeenPage.


Services for homebound. If you are temporarily or permanently disabled, you can request homebound services from the library. Books, videos, books-on-tape and other materials will be delivered to you upon request.
