The Chamber of Commerce of the Bellmores will hold its 13th annual menorah lighting on Sunday, Dec. 21, at 6 p.m. at the Long Island Rail Road station at Bedford Avenue and Broadway. All welcome. For more information, call (516) 679-1875.
New Year’s Eve party. A New Year’s Eve Gala Celebration at Temple B’nai Torah, at 2900 Jerusalem Ave., will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Includes DJ, dancing, food, open bar, noisemakers. $75 for members, $80 for non-members. $10 extra per person for sit-down service. Chanukah family concert. Following the Menorah lighting on Tuesday, Dec, 23 at 6:30 p.m., children of all ages will sing and dance at the annual Chanukah Family Concert featuring bilingual singer/songwriter Louie Miranda at 7 p.m. at the Merrick Jewish Centre, 225 Fox Blvd., Merrick. Chanukah celebration. At Temple B’nai Torah, at 2900 Jerusalem Ave., Family Shabbat will be held on Dec. 19 at 7:30 p.m. The community is invited for an evening of music, prayer for the entire family. A Chanukah celebration will take place on Friday, Dec. 26, at 8 p.m. The community is invited to this Festival of Lights celebration, commemorating the miracles of Jewish history; bring your own menorah and light your candles in the sanctuary. Christmas services. Christmas services for the Church of St. Barnabas the Apostle will be as follows: Christmas Eve, Wednesday, Dec. 24: Masses at 4, 6 and 10 p.m. and Midnight. Build a buddy. Youngsters in grades six through 12 are invited to build a large plush animal at a workshop on Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. Fee is $12.
Chocolate house. For the holidays, assemble and take home a one-pound chocolate house decorated with candies, wrapped in cellophane and tied in festive ribbons on Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. Register ahead. Fee is $6.

Glam nails. Young adults in grades six to 12 can learn how to manicure, decorate and take care of their nails with the advice of a licensed nail technician on Tuesday, Dec. 30, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Materials fee is $5, which includes nail care kit.
Drop-in art project. All welcome to join in on Monday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for a drop-in art project. During school vacation, parents and children can sit down and make crafts together using library-provided art supplies.
Wire bead jewelry. Learn how to make beaded necklaces and bracelets on Tuesday, Jan. 13, from 7 to 8 p.m. Register ahead at the adult reference desk. Fee of $2.
