Christ the King Episcopal Church is on Fifth Street and DeWolfe Place, between Newbridge Road and Prospect Avenue. Sunday services are at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. followed by coffee hour. Call church office at (516) 731-3902.

Suburban Park Jewish Center at 400 Old Westbury Road is having a Shabbat Luncheon on Saturday, June 8 featuring gelfite fish, cholent, kugel, salad and dessert. No charge, must RSVP. They are also conducting a membership drive and Hebrew School registration for the 2002-2003 school year. The program is for children 8 through bar/bat mitzvah with a special program for late beginners. Reasonable membership dues include free Hebrew School tuition and no building fund. Special events



Pride Day. On Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. East Meadow Community Pride Day will be taking place in Speno Park on East Meadow Avenue. The event is entirely free and the public is invited to attend and enjoy a day filled with activities, demonstrations and games. Call (516) 396-5210.

Cootie Party. The Edward J. Speno Lodge of the Order of Sons of Italy in America will be hosting a Cootie Party on June 14 at 6:45 p.m. It will take place at the American Legion Hall, 3123 N. Jerusalem Road. Entry costs $5. The funds raised will benefit our scholarship fund. Call (516) 794-4644.

Golf Benefit. On Monday, July 1 at 1 p.m. on the Red Course in Eisenhower Park, the East Meadow Kiwanis Club will hold its 15th Annual Golf Outing. The $125 per golfer cost covers green fees, electric carts, lunch, snacks and beverage stations, plus an awards dinner with trophies, prizes and an open bar from 6 to 9 p.m. The club is also seeking sponsors at $100 per hole. Pearls of Perelman. The Garden City Readers Theatre will present "The Pearls of Perelman, readings from the works of S.J. Perelman. No tickets are needed and admission is free.

Pearl Harbor will be shown at the East Meadow Public Library. No tickets are needed and admission is free. Please note that the film is three hours long. Coffee and tea will be available at the early showing for brownbaggers.
