Adult Day Care. The Greater Five Towns YM & YWHA holds an adult social day care program for frail and/ or physically-challenged older adults at 111 Irving Place in Woodmere. The program includes social activities, recreational crafts, exercise, yoga, nutrition education, kosher lunches, counseling and nursing support services. The group provides an intimate caring environment in which seniors flourish. "Come Alive" and other stimulating programs and enriching new friendships are available in a family atmosphere. KULANU-Jewish Coalition for Special Services is having its annual communitywide carnival at Cedarhurst Park on Cedarhurst Avenue, near LIRR, on Sunday, June 2, 12 noon to 4 p.m. Dozens of exciting rides, many games, thousands of prizes, clowns, crafts, pony rides, petting zoo, balloons, refreshments and more. Cantor Naftali Herstik of the Great Synagogue in Jerusalem, will participate in a tribute to Cantor Moshe Ehrlich of Congregation Beth Sholom in Lawrence on Monday, June 3. Cantor Ehrlich has with distinction ministered to the membership of the congregation for nearly 50 years. The cantorial concert will be held to pay tribute to him upon his retirement. Called "Al Galgalim," the program offers songs, crafts, stories, learning and ethical issues on every holiday and the Sabbath to the participating children and their families.
