"Do Not Call" Registry is being sponsored by Senator Charles J. Hands-on workshop Using the Library's homepage, librarian Catherine Overton will teach how to find links to useful databases, navigate the World Wide Web and use the library's online catalog. Registration begins on Thursday, September 20.

College essay workshop is being held for high school juniors and seniors. A non-refundable materials fee of $3.50 is due at time of registration. Register at the Reference Desk beginning Thursday, September 20.

Kindergarten story times Half-hour-long meetings will consist of stories, songs, fingerplays, films and filmstrips. Registration begins Thursday, September 6.

Toddler story times will be offered at the library. Groups are limited to 18 children; a parent or caretaker must stay with each child.

Boys and girls in grades 5-7 are invited to attend the Babysitting Workshops to learn the basics of babysitting. Registration is necessary and will begin on Tuesday, September 4.

Play time is a one-hour program for 1 1/2-and 2-year-olds. Toys will be available for play. Parents or caregivers must remain with their children. No more than 2 children per adult. Registration begins on Thursday, September 6.

After-school special is for children in grades 1-2. Come and enjoy stories, creative activities and more. Free tickets are necessary and will be available Monday, September 10.

Fall sessions for pre-school story times for children ages 3 and 4 is taking place at the library. Registration is necessary and begins Thursday, September 6. During registration, one of the following meeting times may be selected: Tuesdays at 10 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. or Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Saturday story time is for those boys and girls age 3 to Kindergarten unable to attend the Tuesday or Wednesday story time sessions. The six half-hour-long meetings will feature stories, films, songs and fingerplays. Registration is necessary and begins Saturday, September 8. Register in person at the Children's Reference Desk or by calling.

Homework center is open to children in grades 4-6 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-7 p.m. Help is available for remedial as well as for students who want to get better grades.

Fall fair will be held by the First United Methodist Church of Oceanside, at Atlantic Avenue and Davison Street. There will be crafts, canned and baked goods, and fresh L.I. produce for sale as well as a barbecue lunch. The day concludes at 5:30 p.m. with a dinner for $10 per person. The Adult Continuing Education Program at Baldwin Public School District is offering "Debt-free Living," a comprehensive 3-hour workshop that shows you how to pay off all your credit debt in 1 to 3 years. 2001 Flu Immunization program provides the influenza vaccine to senior citizen (age 60 and over) free-of-charge, as well as the pneumococcal vaccine if requested, at Baldwin Senior Center, 1810 Grand Avenue.
