African-American museum in Hempstead is pleased to announce the opening of two new exhibits: "African American Places of Worship on Long Island: Climbing Jacob's Ladder," a photographic display by Robert L. Mothers helping mothers. The Sunrise Mother's Center, a non-profit, nonsectarian, member-run organization of mothers helping mother. The subject of the artwork is "The Things We Did Last Summer" and entries should be no larger than 11x14 and will be accepted at the Community Services Desk. The fee is $5 per entry.
