Dist. 30 Board meeting At its next meeting on Monday, August 27 at 8:00 p.m., the Board anticipates adopting a bond resolution that includes the necessary components to address current and future space needs of the district. This meeting will be held at Shaw Avenue Elementary School.

Thursday Night Thrills The Valley Stream Chamber of Commerce's Annual TNT (Thursday Night Thrills) will be held next Thursday, 8/16th. (rain date 8/23rd) This year the summertime event will include a Street Festival. The merchants belonging to the Chamber of Commerce sponsor this fun time event every year, bringing to Rockaway Avenue many events and rides to delight the children. The Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. and the street will be lined with Open Cafes, Amusement Rides, Free Balloon twisters, Free Face Painters, Free Cotton Candy and Free Stage Show. There will be a Cartoon Character Show, Dance Performance by Tap to Point Dance Studio and music to dance the night away. The shows start at 5:30 p.m. and continues all evening.
